Did you know that 1 in 26 people will develop epilepsy in his or her lifetime? Teens all across America are raising their voices in an effort to get this message out and to increase epilepsy awareness.

The Long Island community recently shared in the spirit of giving to support individuals with epilepsy and developmental disabilities during the Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island’s ‘Purple Diamond Gala: A Royal Affair’ at Carlyle on the Green at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, NY.

The Long Island community is invited to receive the “royal” treatment in showing support for individuals with epilepsy and developmental disabilities by attending The Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island’s ‘Purple Diamond Gala.’

Larry Slatky of Cold Spring Harbor has received the Distinguished Service Award from the American College of Health Care Administrators in Virginia based on his “outstanding volunteer work” with the college’s New York chapter and national office over the past 35 years.
